Since its introduction, the North Orbit has become the showpiece within the lineup of North Kiteboarding. This year, North introduces the 2025 North Orbit, the most iconic 5-strut big air kite on the market. With a significant wind range, easy steering, and great upwind performance, this is the all-rounder for both beginner and advanced big air riders. This fifth edition is optimized in panel layout, bridles, and bladders. As a result, the North Orbit 2025 jumps more easily, pulls impressive kiteloops, and offers incredible hangtime for ultimate big air performance!
The North Orbit is the favorite kite for both pro riders and beginners. Big air pros like Cohan van Dijk and Marc Jacobs showcase what the kite can do in the most extreme conditions, but everyday riders like you and me also have access to the maximum performance of the new 2025 North Orbit. The kite has a large sweet spot, which is the perfect combination of power and handling. Because the sweet spot is so large on the North Orbit, the kite is very easy to handle.
To go all-in for your highest jump or even pull your biggest megaloop, you need confidence in your kite. Thanks to the sturdy 5-strut frame, the kite delivers incredible high-end control and allows you to hold more power, enabling you to go even higher. Have you jumped a few times and flown several meters downwind? No worries, the North Orbit flies higher in the wind window, making the kite easier to sail upwind compared to most kites. An additional advantage is that the kite catches you more quickly after a kiteloop. After the loop, the kite quickly returns above you, so you are quickly caught again.
The shape of the leading edge has been individually refined, with a continuous curved arc that is slightly narrower on the shoulders and wider on the wingtips. The adjustment of the wingtips reduces the kite's drag and improves turning speed while providing more lift. Adjusting the wingtips required the bridles to be modified as well. The bridles have been redesigned, and in combination with new attachment points, this is the most stable North Orbit yet. No matter how strong or gusty the wind is, the North Orbit remains reliable and forgiving when you are overpowered. Even in very gusty winds, the kite feels direct and catches you after a massive megaloop.
In the larger sizes, the panels have been updated, improving the low-end performance, especially for heavier riders. The kites feel more responsive and slightly faster. The smaller sizes have a lower aspect ratio, resulting in more hangtime and faster, tighter loops for doubles and S-loops. All kites feature lighter bladders, reducing the overall weight of all kites.
