Meet Joni: Arctic Kites Founder
Joni is the founder of Arctic Kites and a highly energetic kitesurfing instructor that you'll most often find on the waters of Joensuu. Joni is especially known for his attention to small details, uncompromising commitment to safety, and his ability to motivate every student towards success.

Under Joni's guidance, you can be sure that your instructor knows the sport inside out and can safely and confidently guide you into kitesurfing, regardless of your skill level.

Joni is a very active enthusiast of the sport and has also succeeded in competitions:

​Versatile Water enthusiast
While Joni particularly enjoys hydrofoiling and Big Air jumps, he's an all-around water sports enthusiast who loves all kinds of activities involving wind and water. He gladly teaches both beginners and more experienced riders, helping everyone discover their own potential on the water.

When the wind isn't blowing, Joni takes care of the Arctic Kites website, cycles, or spends quality time with his family.

Sami-Ville Markkula
(Turku, Rauma,Tampere, Pyhäjärvi-Säkylä)
Sami-Ville on innokas ja kokenut leijalautailuharrastaja, joka haluaa tuoda leijalautailun ilon ja intohimon myös oppilaille. Hänen tavoitteenaan on innostaa lisää harrastajia leijalautailun pariin ja rakentaa vahva yhteisö leijalautailun ympärille pyhäjärviseudulle. Hän on opettaja, joka jakaa mielellään tietämystään ja taitojaan innostaen oppilaita löytämään leijalautailun ilon.
Intohimo leijalautailuun on saanut hänet kokeilemaan erilaisia tyylejä ja tekniikoita lajissa. Kesällä Sami-Ville tykkää isoista ilmoista ja useimmiten jaloista löytyy twini. Talvella on käytössä lauta tai sukset. Kokemusta löytyy niin pumppiksista, patjaleijoista, kuin singleskineistäkin. Myös talvivaellukset leijalla ovat hänelle tuttuja.
Leijan lisäksi Sami-Villen saattaa nähdä roikkumassa myös laskuvarjon tai speedriding siiven varassa. Hänen aikansa kuluu myös pesäpallon ja VPK:n parissa.
