Summer is coming and what changes will it bring to the familiar winter hobby? Old conkers know what to expect, but winter enthusiasts/those who started in winter often think about how to prepare for summer. The first thing to do, especially in cold water, is to ask the guy to join in the fun so that it stays safe.

The same inflatable/closed mattresses also work in the summer, as well as trapezes and booms, so there is no need to invest money in these, unless there is something broken. For example, Pumps should definitely be tested for leaks before going into the water, as well as other equipment, so that there are no unpleasant surprises.

So what do you really need when you start to melt?

Poncho. Ponchos are so quick & easy to throw on after/in between a set and warm up in it. Changing clothes can be done easily and quietly. At first it may seem like you're wearing a dress, but a poncho is an absolute standard outfit in the summer, at least for me and as you'll notice, so are many others. You can check, for exampleNorth's Ponchowhich keeps you warm between sessions and where you can dry yourself at the same time.

In cold weather, it's not a bad idea to take a warm drink in the thermos, it's quite silly after the set. You can find these at home, in local stores, or even with North's logo when you ask for one separately.

Impact vest/flotation vest. The Impact vest is recommended for slightly more experienced drivers and the purpose of this is to prevent e.g. damage to the ribs after a failed jump, these tend not to float very well. A flotation vest, as the name suggests, is an important piece of equipment in that even if you manage to swim to the shore from where you dropped the kite, using it saves a lot of energy, e.g. when relaunching the kite. You can be carefree in the water with a life jacket on.

Water sports helmet. There are many kinds of these and there is certainly something for everyone. Around here, everyone wears a helmet, at least the vast majority, and it's really useful even when you're in the water, so most accidents happen on land (read. kite lifts and landings.) Even a board can fly into the back of your head and the boards don't flex, so... wear a helmet :)

Twintip crystal board. The wakeboard board is its own and we use twintip boards intended for skiing, which generally have bindings that make it easy to slide the foot in and also take it out quickly if necessary. You can find the selection of boardsFROM HERE. If you are unsure about the right type of board for your needs, we recommend that you contact us, we will be happy to help. For beginners, the most common models are, for example, North Prime or North Trace.

Then last but not least. When jumping into the water, a high-quality wetsuit, neoprene slippers and gloves are a must. A tough guy or woman will certainly go for a dip in the open, but yes, that wetness is a prerequisite for practicing the sport. If you are thinking about which equipment you should invest the most in terms of quality, then definitely wetsuits and other neoprene products. However, these will keep you warm and protect you from hypothermia. The characteristics of a high-quality wetsuit in kite & wingsuits also include good mobility, meaning that a diving suit dug out of the attic will not necessarily offer you that flexible and relaxed set in the water, but the opposite.

You can find high-quality Ride Engine wetsuits and neoprene products at e.g.from here. If you have any questions, we will be happy to help.

ONLY if you have a wet side in order, great job! If a working wetsuit, slipper or glove has a leak, yeshereis an incredibly fast and easy neoprene patch that you can use to fix holes and cuts in a wetsuit in a couple of minutes.
