img_0916.jpgThe team flew to Kulusuk in Greenland and then onto Tasiilaq. From there the team flew by helicopter onto the icecap near to Nagtivit on the east coast, before beginning the journey across the icecap.

img_0907.jpgAt the beginning of the expedition the pulks were at their heaviest and it was a gradual uphill ski to the top of the icecap. This, together with the katabatic winds that descend off the icecap meant that ski-sailing and greater daily distances were possible during the second half of the expedition.

At the west edge of the icecap the team descended to the bottom of a glacier (to the north of the notorious Jakobshavn Glacier) where the team was picked up by helicopter for onward travel to Ilulissat .
