Ronny Finsås

img_3524-2.JPGRonny is one of the World’s most experienced ski sailors. He lives in Finse next to Hardangervidda, which is probably the best ski-sailing area in Norway. His choice of place to live is directly related to his dedication to ski-sailing and wildlife. When he is not working at Patriot Hills in Antarctica, he is out teaching ski-sailing or doing ski-sail expeditions around Finse. Being a member of the local rescue team, he also has wide experience of glacier rescue.

During the last six years he has been pushing the limits of what you can do with a ski sail. He has travelled at 50mph pulling a sledge, sailed in the dark a distance of 30 miles in 2 hours and recently kite-skied from the South Pole to Hercules Inlet, a distance of ~1100km in 5 days and over 500km in 1 day!
